Summer Stew

[ Serves 4 ]


  • 200 gms yellow spilt lentils(Channa dal)
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 50 gms chopped Onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped Garlic
  • 1 tsp whole Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Chili powder
  • 6 each Curry leaves
  • 50 gms diced Coconut
  • 50 gms diced Carrots
  • 50 gms diced yellow Peppers
  • 50 gms Corn
  • Seasoning as required


  1. Cook the yellow channa lentil with a pinch of salt and turmeric powder. Cook thoroughly and keep aside with liquid in.
  2. Heat the oil, Sauté onion garlic, cumin seed, curry leafs then add carrots, yellow peppers, diced, coconuts and corn with chili powder.
  3. Mix cooked lentil with liquid. Keep cooking for another 10 minutes and season well.
  4. Serve with some more diced coconuts as shown in the picture.
